On November 27, the data released by Federacciai, the Italian Steel Manufacturers Association, showed that in the first nine months of this year, Italy’s steel exports to non-EU countries totaled 2.73 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.7%.
In terms of exports, the decline in the first nine months was lower than that in the first eight months, reflecting the improvement in exports in September. Especially during this period, imports of long steel products from non-EU countries decreased by 27.9% year-on-year, wire rod imports decreased by 17.8% year-on-year to 139,000 tons, and imports of steel bars decreased by 33.3% year-on-year to 106,000 tons.
