Do you have an impression about that your stainless steel pipe fittings supplier can provide both cold drawn pipe and cold rolled pipe, and do you know clear about the difference between them? okay, kaysuns will tell you, here we go.

cold rolled pipe

The difference between the two types in the difference of processing. The cold rolling mill has a large deformation in a single pass, a slow production cycle, and a small deformation in a single cold drawing pass. It requires multiple passes of annealing and pickling lubrication. The process is complicated and the cost is higher than that of cold rolling.

Cold rolled pipe is rolled below the recrystallization temperature; sometimes cold-rolling is heated, but the temperature is relatively low, because work hardening will occur after cold-rolling. If the material forming requirements are relatively high, it must be annealing.

Cold drawn pipes are generally cylindrical wires. Cold rolling is a low-carbon and low-alloy steel. Cold rolling can increase the strength and ensure the surface quality of the material.

Cold drawn pipes generally need to be drawn multiple times, and there must be corresponding stress relief annealing between each drawing to ensure the smooth progress of the next cold drawing.

Cold drawing refers to the method of applying a pulling force on one end of the material to pull the material through a mold hole. The diameter of the mold is smaller than the diameter of the material. The cold drawing process of the cold drawn pipe causes the material to have extrusion deformation in addition to the tensile deformation. The cold drawing process is generally carried out on a special cold drawing machine. The material processed by cold drawing has better performance than the material processed by cold drawing.
