1.4418 Martensitic Stainless Steel: The Top Choice for Stainless Steel Pipes and Fittings

1.4418 is a martensitic stainless steel crafted through double vacuum melting. It targets applications needing high strength and enhanced corrosion resistance. Compared to traditional steels like AISI 410, 1.4418 delivers better performance.

    Core Advantages of 1.4418

1.4418 has excellent tensile strength (≥900 MPa). It supports heavy-duty applications such as shafts and valves. This effectively reduces the risk of material fatigue.

1.4418 contains 15-17% chromium and 0.8-1.5% molybdenum for excellent corrosion resistance. It thrives in harsh environments and greatly extends the life of your equipment.

Its low carbon content (≤0.06%) prevents embrittlement during welding. This makes 1.4418 an ideal material for stainless steel pipes and fittings.

The optimized microstructure of 1.4418 improves impact toughness. It ensures reliable performance even at low temperatures for demanding applications.

    Comparison with Other Steels

1.4418 has a higher chromium and nickel content than AISI 410, which enhances its corrosion resistance and ensures durability in harsh environments. In addition, the low carbon content reduces the risk of embrittlement during welding. As a result, it excels in stainless steel pipes and fittings, offering both strength and weldability. On the other hand, the low alloy content of AISI 410 limits its corrosion protection. Therefore, it is a stronger and more reliable alternative.
